Seals: protection, performance and durability in one

Seals in a rotary valve are essential for creating a hermetic seal between the different compartments of the valve. Poor sealing is a common issue. When seals in a rotary valve fail, various problems can arise that affect the valve's operation:

Leaks: The most obvious consequence of a poor seal is leakage of the product from inside. Without proper seals, internal components of the valve (particularly the bearings) can be exposed to the product, leading to damage, wear, or corrosion.

Loss of pressure control: When seals do not function properly, the valve can no longer maintain the necessary pressure differentials. This can result in uncontrolled product flow, which may further damage other components of the valve.

Reduced efficiency: Poor seals can significantly diminish the valve's performance. Due to leaks and pressure loss, the valve will have to work harder to achieve the same output, leading to lower efficiency and a shorter lifespan for the valve.

Seals play a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning of a valve. Poor seals can lead to a range of issues, from inefficient operation to serious damage to the valve and surrounding components. Regular maintenance and timely replacement of seals are therefore essential to guarantee proper operation.
